"The smoking issue has been around now for some 20 years, with some states having already voted to ban smoking. We knew the smoking ban was coming to North Carolina, we just didn't know when. Here at Woodleaf Lanes in Salisbury, we were already non-smoking on Saturdays from 9am-5pm, for 8 years or so. At our Statesville, NC location, we went non-smoking in June 2007 and were discussing doing the same at the Salisbury location when the news came that North Carolina would be implementing smoking regulations in late 2009 or so. As with any business, going smoke-free has its pros and cons, but all in all, it serves the people well."
